Annapolis Maryland Picture of the Day

It has been another sunshine filled morning so far today in Annapolis Maryland with stretches of light grey clouds scattered in the sky above as yet another work week has begun. After having spent a bit more time in my car yesterday than normal I was looking forward to this morning’s walk and a chance to stretch my legs.
Things seemed fairly quiet at the neighborhood marinas at the house so I made my way across the road for a walk along the Chesapeake Bay shoreline to see what nature was up to this morning. After arriving there on the shoreline I stopped for a few minutes looking out over the water at four or five bulk carriers and tankers anchored out in the channel while enjoying the warmth of the sunshine on my skin.
The area where I was standing at the time is the site of a number of small narrow inlets that have been created by the tides off the Chesapeake over the years and Bay Grasses have taken root allowing for wildlife to make it their home. Sure enough it was not long before this male Mallard Duck emerged from the grasses to perhaps enjoy the warmth of the morning sunshine just the same as I was today.
